Best Wool

Why we love merino wool

Although cotton is often used for baby clothing, it is not always the best choice for newborns' sensitive skin. For this reason, we deliberately chose merino wool for our wrap cardigan and knit pants. This unique fiber offers numerous natural benefits that provide your baby with maximum comfort and give you, as parents, peace of mind that your little one feels completely safe and snug – especially during the first months of life.

FAQ

How to wash and care for wool correctly in the washing machine

Turn your wool garments inside out before washing and place them in a large laundry bag. This protects them from mechanical stress and gives them enough room to move freely. To ensure you can enjoy your soft and cozy wool product for a long time, proper care is essential.

Wool can felt at spin speeds that are too high or with sudden temperature changes. Many washing machines, even in wool cycles, spin above 600 rpm or rinse with cold water after warm washing. Both can damage wool fibers.

Be sure to select the wool cycle and reduce the spin speed to a maximum of 600, ideally 400 rpm. Make sure your machine keeps the temperature constant. If in doubt: wash cold to avoid temperature fluctuations.

The so-called eco or saving program often uses cold water during rinsing to save energy. However, this can cause wool to felt or lose its structure. This program is not suitable for wool care.

If you are unsure whether your washing machine maintains the correct temperature or spin speed, we recommend hand-washing your wool products. This is the safest way to protect your garments.

Use a special wool detergent without enzymes or bleach. These substances can attack wool's natural lanolin and make the fibers brittle.

After washing: Do not wring or hang! Lay the garment on a terry towel, roll it up, and gently press out excess water. Then dry flat on a drying rack – never in direct sunlight or on a radiator.

Apply a little wool detergent directly to the stain, gently massage it in, and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then clean as usual on the wool cycle.

Store wool garments in the closet with lavender or cedar sachets. The natural scents deter moths and reliably protect your clothing.
